Slant Board Exercises for foot and ankle pain


What is a slant board?
Slant board stretching involves using a type of wedge to  stretch you calf. Calf tightness contributes to many foot and ankle problems.

Why do slant board exercises?

Slant board exercises are a very powerful and effective stretch of the calf muscle. Calf stretches can help a number of different conditions. You may find that exercises on a slant board help your symptoms if you suffer from achilles tendinitis, plantar fasciitis, heel pain and metatarsalgia, as well as helping with painful flat feet.

Where can I get one?

You can buy this type of device on-line by searching for ‘slant board’. 
You can also use hard backed books to make the board.

How should I use it?

Set the board to a comfortable height Keep your knee straight
Use the board for 10 minutes 3 times a day
