Bleeding will occur as part of any surgery where there is a cut in the skin. If you take drugs to thin your blood such as clopidogrel (Plavix), warfarin, rivaroxaban, dabigatran, apixaban or dipyridimole you should discuss these with your surgeon ahead of treatment. You can have severe bleeding after any surgery, although this is in fact rare in foot surgery. More commonly you can have some bleeding through the dressings. If this I severe we may re-dress the foot, or in the worst case scenario you may need to return to the operating theatre for another surgery to deal with the bleeding.
