Self-Pay Fees & Guide to Private Treatment | Mr Edward Dawe

This page provides a simple guide to consultation fees and self-pay treatment for patients seeing Mr Edward Dawe.

Mr Edward Dawe is a Consultant Trauma and Orthopaedic Surgeon specialising exclusively in foot and ankle surgery. Self-pay patients are welcome, and further investigations or treatment can be arranged where clinically appropriate.

Consultation fees

New consultation: £300

Follow-up consultation: £200

Scans and investigations

Where clinically needed, further investigations may be recommended to help clarify the diagnosis and guide treatment.

X-rays: usually charged separately where required. The cost can vary depending on the hospital, the body part being imaged and the number of views needed.

MRI scans: usually around £500.

Scan charges are separate from consultation fees and from any later surgery quotation.

Self-pay surgery

If surgery is recommended, you will first need your consultation and any necessary investigations. Once a diagnosis and treatment plan have been confirmed, the hospital can provide a formal quotation for the procedure.

Procedure pricing can vary according to the operation required, the hospital, implants or prostheses where relevant, and any medical factors that may affect the care pathway.

The Nuffield Health Price Promise

For patients having eligible self-pay surgery at Nuffield Health, the hospital provides a package quotation once the diagnosis and treatment plan are confirmed.

This usually means:

  • a clear quotation before treatment
  • consultant, anaesthetist and hospital fees included within the procedure package
  • aftercare included as part of the treatment package
  • clinically required treatment for a complication related to the procedure included under the hospital’s terms

Initial consultation fees, scans and other investigations are separate and are not included within the procedure package quotation.

Self-pay at Goring Hall Hospital

Patients having treatment at Goring Hall Hospital may also choose to self-fund. If further treatment is recommended after consultation, the hospital can provide a quotation for the procedure.

Circle Health Group also advertises flexible finance options for eligible self-pay patients through Chrysalis Finance. These options are offered by the hospital provider and finance partner, and terms, eligibility and repayment options are set by them.

Finance and spreading the cost

Finance options may be available for eligible self-pay patients through hospital finance partners. These arrangements are made with the hospital provider, not through this website.

At present, both Nuffield Health and Circle Health Group advertise finance options for self-pay treatment, including Chrysalis Finance. Terms, eligibility and repayment options are set by the provider and finance partner.

Important note about pricing

Hospital charges, scan prices and self-pay package prices can change. If you are considering treatment, the most accurate figure will be the written quotation provided by the hospital after your consultation and any necessary investigations.
